Visual Impact for Men is the answer to giving you the Hollywood Body and the Jason Momoa Workout. It’s specifically designed for men to get that shrink wrap effect around your muscles, without looking overly muscular.
Preparing to become Conan the Barbarian
In preparation to step into the original "barbarian's" shoes, Momoa invested a lot of time reading the original Robert E. Howard “Conan” books. Jason is quoted as saying,
“It’s really, truly an honour to play him. I love the fact that he is not the superhero, he’s a man that’s gritty, he’s truly a man, but under the circumstances he does heroic things.”
“The wardrobe in [the 'Conan' reboot] is really pulled from the Dark Horse Comics. Obviously the poster looks like the Frank Frazetta painting. We pulled from some of the comics – some do Robert E. Howard’s stories, some do their own. We pulled from a little bit of everything.” As well as preparing his mind, Jason also prepared his body - working out to prepare for the physical stresses required for the fight scenes and stunts during filming. Jason had to begin serious training months before filming began to have that lean, cut look expected of Conan the Barbarian. David Leitch (stunt superstar - "The Matrix, "The Bourne Ultimatum", "300") supervised Jason Mona's workouts. Jason's workout included martial arts training, sword fighting, combat training, and weight lifting in order to get into fighting shape and pack on 10 lbs of muscle to gain that action-figure look.
